If you're not a Christian and you're visiting our website, we want you to know that we're glad you're here and we're especially glad that you've come to this section about Jesus and The Gospel because this is for you.
Did you know that anybody can become a Christian? Whatever your past, whatever has happened to you or whatever you might have done, you are welcome to come to Jesus. Nobody is excluded. There is absolutely nothing you could have done or that has been done to you that would make Jesus turn away from you. We want to tell you about what He has done and can do for you, and the tender love He feels for those who are lost, broken and hurting. We call it the Gospel and it’s for everybody.
Gospel means 'good news' and this is the sort of good news we want everyone to hear and know about. But before we get to the good news, we need to talk about the bad news.
It all began in a garden. The Bible tells us that God created the world and everything in it and all that God had created was good. The most special part of His creation was the man and woman He had made, and He had given them responsibility for all other created things and placed them in a garden, which was paradise. The man and woman, who were called Adam and Eve, were told they could eat the fruit of any tree in the garden, except the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
All Adam and Eve had to do was trust and obey God in that one thing, but they failed and rebelled against Him. They were tempted by a serpent, who was Satan, and together, they ate the fruit that God had forbidden. Immediately, sin entered the world and the hearts of the man and woman and, as a result, the whole earth was cursed.
As a result, all mankind has inherited that same sinful nature and rebellious heart from Adam and Eve, just like we inherit traits from our own parents. This is why we see such pain, sorrow and evil in the world. It is because of the sin in the hearts of men and women, boys and girls. It is because of the sin in your heart and our hearts; the lies, the jealousy, the lusts, the hatred.
Because God is a just God, He must punish sin (Ezekiel 18:20). It must be dealt with and His punishment is death and hell. Our situation is desperate, what can we do to escape eternal punishment? Incredibly, the answer is nothing......because God has done everything. This is the good news of the Gospel. (John 3:16)
As soon as Adam and Eve sinned, God put in place the most marvellous plan to rescue men and women, boys and girls (Genesis 3:15). He was going to send Somebody to take the punishment for you. That Somebody was going to live a perfect, sinless life for you. He was going to be scorned, mocked, beaten and nailed to a cross to die for you. He was going to take all your sin upon Himself and have God's anger at your sin directed solely at Him so that it would pass over you. That Somebody was God's own beloved Son, Jesus Christ, and He did it for you.
Jesus took the full punishment for your sin so that you don't have to bear it and He offers you His perfect righteousness in exchange. He took all your shame and guilt on Himself so that you can be set free from it. He did it willingly, with a heart full of tender love, so that you could be released from the power of sin in your life, so that He could save you, and so you could one day enter heaven where there will be no tears, no pain and no sorrow and where you can be with Him forever.
Today, the risen Jesus is calling sinners to Himself. He is calling you to follow Him, to repent of your sins and believe in who He is and what He has done. He's done it for you because He is full of compassion. What will your response be? Will you come to Jesus and be saved from your sins, from your past, from your guilt and shame and from hell? Jesus is the only way to heaven. There is no other way (John 14:6). All other roads lead down to hell. He stands with arms open wide, ready to embrace and forgive any who will come to Him.
Jesus is a wonderful Saviour. He is faithful and true, strong and kind. He can heal deep pain from your past, He can give you peace that passes understanding and He can restore to you the years that the locust has eaten. He will never let you go and will never be unkind. His love towards you will always be tender and gentle. Will you come to Jesus today? (2 Corinthians 6:2) You can pray to Him, tell Him of your sin, your past, and tell Him you believe in who He is and what He has done for you and ask Him to save you and change you. He will not turn you away. (John 6 verse 37)

'Among the lost souls in hell there is not one that can say, "I went to Jesus and He refused me".' (Charles Spurgeon)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6 verse 23)
